Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Livithan

ATTENTION: This is a prime example of “Never judge a book by its movie.” I almost decided against reading this book because I wasn’t impressed by the movie, and man, would I have missed out on an excellent novel. Nick and Norah, both previous failures at the whole falling in love thing, meet one night by chance and end up having the most confusing, funniest, most heart-wrenching, most passionate, disastrous, perfect first date. The novel alternates from the point of view of Nick, to that of Norah, and this is one of the things that appeals to me most about the novel. Since the book is written by two authors, Nick and Norah have completely individual and unique personalities that you will fall in love with, as you follow them through their adventure of falling in and out and in and out of love. And therefore, while I would only give the movie about 2 or 3 stars, this novel receives 4.7 stars from me.
